The Photos below are photos that occurred during the Gunbarrel Fires west of Cody, Wyoming. The fires burned from July until September 2008. The fire consumed over 68,000 Acres at a cost of over $11 Million dollars. 68 Horses were evacuated from the UXU and the Crossed Sabres Lodges on the Northfork west of Cody. MARET operated a 24 hour shelter for those animals and their owners. Owners were not charged for sheltering during the evacuation. MARET operated on solely on community donations making less of a financial impact on already stressed evacuees. MARET would like to thank businesses and private donors for their support during this disaster.
